Event Details
England’s largest festival of history and culture celebrates its 25th anniversary with thousands of free events taking place across ten days. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore places not normally open to the public and learn more about the heritage on their doorstep. During the annual festival, doors are flung open at some of the country’s best-known attractions, as well as private and community spaces ranging from country houses to museum archives, theatres, churches and wildlife reserves. Until September 22.
PICTURE: Explore the Lakeside Energy from Waste Education Centre – floating in the middle of a lake – and then take a behind the scenes tour to find out how our waste is turned in to enough energy to power nearly all the houses in Slough. Open on Saturday and Sunday September 21-22 from 10-12.30pm and 1.30-4pm. Pre-booking required.
