Event Details

England’s largest festival of history and culture celebrates its 25th anniversary with thousands of free events taking place across ten days. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore places not normally open to the public and learn more about the heritage on their doorstep. During the annual festival, doors are flung open at some of the country’s best-known attractions, as well as private and community spaces ranging from country houses to museum archives, theatres, churches and wildlife reserves. Until September 22.

PICTURE: The National Trust’s Greys Courts opens its doors for Heritage Open Days on Wednesday and Thursday September 18-19 from 10am to 5pm in celebration of harvest. Join expert gardeners for ten-minute talks, apple and fruit tasting, and jam making in the house. Apple cakes, seasonal treats and delicious main courses inspired by the kitchen garden at Greys Court will be served in the cowshed tearoom.
