The Chilterns is a beautiful part of Britain and we want to enjoy it, explore it and help protect it for future generations.

Whether you’re a rambler, dog walker or simply a family who love getting away from the computer and in touch with nature, our online magazine aims to help you discover the delights of the Chilterns and find out more about the fascinating people, places and wildlife on your doorstep.

We work in partnership with like-minded local and national organisations to foster an appreciation of the natural world and find ways of doing more to protect our precious environment.

Our What’s On and Where To Go pages feature events happening all over the Chilterns, with dozens of ideas for things to do and places to visit.

That includes Buckinghamshire and the neighbouring counties of Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hertforshire and Bedfordshire, as well as activities further afield which may be worth a longer journey.

Like what we do? The website has been a labour of love over the past few years, so any support is gratefully received. You can buy us a coffee here – just click on the coffee cup (and thank you!).

Are you a Beyonder?

[biˈjɒndər] n; a curious, inquisitive individual who always wants to explore just that little bit further in search of adventure

{Middle English from Old English begeondan [be- + geondan] beyond and geond yonder; related to Old Saxon jendra, Old High German jenēr, Gothic jaind}

OK, we made that up. But if you love the great outdoors and want to “Go Further” to explore and protect it, you’re in the right place – welcome!
